Well all I'll put in is that the PS3 launch here was horrendous. Virtually all the feedback I've read from actual people that went to midnight launches etc is that there were more shop staff than customers. That's pretty tragic if you ask me.
Sure the PS3 will appeal to some people but I like so many others just see it as an overpriced piece of junk. If my PS2 is anything to go by (my own one won't read DVDs after 9 months + the internet is full of criticisms of the slimline PS2) then Sony's reputation leaves much to be desired.
Apart from that the PS3 is completely on the defensive. There isn't actually a single thing that makes it better than the Xbox, you know, something that actually sets it apart. Everything that's been said has been in the PS3's defence, in short it aint got nothin' on the Xbox.
How can you criticise a company for giving you choice? If you think you'll need the elite package then buy it instead of the budget one. However I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that are completely happy with having the budget version Xbox.
