Microsoft's way is a headache to the game developer having to negotiate with different specs just like the PC. Consoles strength has always been the one spec for all which is'int the case with the Xbox 360 it'll cause problems with content in the future. I was reading a feature from EA about there FIFA games and the guy in charge of the project Andrew Wilson said the following.

We ran out of space on the disc with current gen. Last year's FIFA had 26 leagues, 15 thousand players, kits, players, stadiums, audio and music, you just run out of space. The next gen discs have got more space so in the short term we will have much more commentary on our games

If they ran out of space on the DVD9 before now why will it be any different this time?. I guess you could always download the extra content...but oh wait you cant some of the users dont process a hard drive.
Microsoft's "choice" is superficial it's not about choice at all, Your going to NEED the premium's features in the next few years. Core users are going to be forced to shell out all over again sucks to be them.
